Of course, I scheduled the boys for all kinds of doctors appointments, so we had to work around that, but we are almost back to school and I wont have to shuffle so much in the afternoons.   Hello Sunday. We're back! Although the first week back from vacation is always hard, its nice to be knee deep in a schedule again. The boys do much better when they know what is to come every day. I still miss the cool air of the beach and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Lets recap the week. Restaurant Style Salsa

  My husband has been obsessed with restaurant style salsa lately. There was one brand that he loved above all else. So on my foodie journey, I decided to try and replicate the flavors my husband loves. With a little trial and error, I think I finally came up with a winning combo. Here is my restaurant style salsa recipe.  Course: Appetizer Servings: 2 1/2 cups Time to Make: 15 minutes Ingredients: 2 Cans diced tomatoes, drained. 1/2 cup chopped white onion. 1 Jalapeno, seeded and chopped. 1/4 cup chopped celantro. 3 tablespoons lime juice. 1 tsp honey. Salt and pepper to taste. Instructions: Place all ingredients in a blender. Puree for 15 to 30 seconds or until well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve with tortilla chips, or refrigerate for later use.

Potsticker Dipping Sauce

  I absolutely love potstickers, but they have to have a good sauce to bring the flavors together.  My husband made this sauce for me the other day, and I absolutely loved it, so I thought I would share.  Here is my husband's potsticker dipping sauce. Course: Appetizer Servings: 2 people Time to Make: 10 minutes Ingredients: 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup water 2 tbsp rice vinegar 2 tsp toasted sesame oil 2 tsp brown sugar 1 clove garlic 1/4 tsp ginger 1/4 tsp sriracha, if you like it a little spicey. Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mixing well. Let sit for 30 minutes for all the flavors to combine. Serve right away or store in the fridge for later use.
