Weekly Menu #319 And The Book Of The Week

Image
Monday! Its been a long week. We've had sickness plaguing the house. It's been nasty. Because of my compromised immune system I seemed to come down with it the worst. Mom's aren't supposed to get sick. They can't get sick. There isn't time in the day for that, but yet here I am, curled up on the couch with pain all down my spine, aching knees and a head full of snot. Such is my life now. Its either this or cancer and at least I'll survive this, even though I don't feel like it right now. I've had a lot of time to read though with all this down time. This weeks book is Novice Dragoneer by E.E. Knight. I have a lot of the author's other series about vampires and I'm excited to read this one. What are you reading this week? Lets get on with the menu this week, its delicious. Enjoy! Monday -  Pulled Rice Chicken Bowls Tuesday -  Figgy Balsamic Pork Wednesday -  Pork Carnitas Tacos   Thursday -  Truffle Unami Bla...

Title: The Princess Beard By: Delilah S Dawson & Kevin Hearne Genre: Fantasy Pages: 384 Release Date: October 8th, 2019 Publisher:  Del Rey Books Rating: ★★★★☆ Summary from Goodreads:  Shave the princess? Inconceivable! The hilarious bestselling authors of  Kill the Farm Boy  and  No Country for Old Gnomes  are back with a new adventure in the irreverent world of Pell. Once upon a time, a princess slept in a magical tower cloaked in thorns and roses. When she woke, she found no Prince Charming, only a surfeit of hair and grotesquely long fingernails--which was, honestly, better than some creep who acted without consent. She cut off her long braids and used them to escape. But she kept the beard because it made a great disguise. This is not a story about finding true love's kiss--it's a story about finding yourself. On a pirate ship. Where you belong. But these are no ordinary pirates aboard  The Puffy Peach , serving under Filt...

Mini Reviews: The Raven's Heart, Rebel Heir, How to Forget

I have some more mini reviews for you. Too many books not enough blog space. I could fill up my blog everyday with a review for the next two months with the amount of reviews I need to do. Lets get to some of the pages I have turned lately. The Raven's Heart  By Jesse Blackadder Rating: ★★★☆☆ This happened to be the oldest book on my TBR pile. The history involved in the is book was really in depth,  and the story itself was really interesting. I thought that it was a little long though. Just when you think the story will end, it keeps going with a new set of problems.  Rebel Heirby   By Vi Keeland Rating: ★★★★☆ This was a steamy read. There was a nice story behind it and you really get to know the characters and their backstories. If you are looking for something hot, this is it. How to Forget By Kate Mulgrew Rating: ★★★★☆ I'm a big fan of Ms. Mulgrew. Voyager, Orange is the New Black. Love it all. This story is about her ...
