Review:

I grew up on Ghostbusters. Slimmer, the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, the Gatekeeper and Key Master. They were staples in my household. You might even say, the original movies sparked that first flame of paranormal joy in me. With the newer movies and the gender swapped cast, lets just say, I was slightly disappointed in them, but they were still entertaining. It wasn't until Afterlife came out that I truly fangirled the entire movie, especially the end.

Going into the movie, I think any fan of the original cast would know who the new characters relate to. If you don't, I won't spoil it, but they found some amazing actors who I already adored to play the parts. The movie introduced a new Slimmer, but it was more of a Chomper. A less friendly and more destructive version with many arms and a gross green color. The Stay Puff man was in fact, many tiny Stay Puff dudes, causing havoc around a grocery store, and the good old Gatekeeper and Key Master were back in true Ghostbusters fashion.

The story was a wonderful progression of paranormal and history as all good stories should be. It wrapped in the old and new, with Ecto1 coming back to life, and even some cameos from some beloved characters.

I truly loved this movie. Loved it so much, we now own it and I am watching it as I write this review. If you are looking for a fun and creepy movie to watch this weekend, try Ghostbusters Afterlife, then come back here and fangirl with me.
