Blueberry picking and Blueberry salad

It's that time of year again! The blueberries are ripe, the sun is out and my kids are torturing me as I'm shoulder high in a blueberry bush. It never fails.

We did manage to walk away with a good 9 pounds of the fresh organic blue balls of goodness. That's only after my middle monster screamed for a half hour about how he didn't want to be there and then ran up and down the isles. Fun... times...

On our car ride home I was contemplating what to make with the berries, especially since my in-laws were coming over for dinner and I still hadn't planned what we were having as a side item with our burgers. I wanted something easy to make. Something light since its been so hot out and something sweet to incorporate the blueberries with.

I came up with a salad! Go figure.

It was amazingly delicious and I will include the recipe at the bottom of this post for all you salad aficionados.

Enjoy the rest of the photos from our trip to Morning Shade Farm in Canby, Oregon.

I did get the kids to help pick blueberries after convincing them that it's a contest and we needed to pick more berries than Grandme.

My blueberry stomping claude hoppers. My favorite, most comfortable boots.

A little tiki light for the BBQ.

Romaine lettuce
1 Cup Pecans
