December 2021 Playlist - End of the Year

Welcome to my end of the year playlist. These are the five songs I've been listening to right now and why.

Preacher - OneRepublic
I listened to this song so many times today. It came up on my playlist this morning, producing massive sobs and crocodile tears. My Grandfather passed away a few years ago. He was a great man and instilled in me many lessons of life, love and happiness. Every once and a while, something reminds me of him and I can't stop the tears that follow. This song was just that.

ABCDEFU - Gayle

I'm not sure if I like this song because its catchy, or if its just stuck in my head because I've spent too much time on TicTok lately. I'll let you decide.

The boys in the band - New Kids on the Block

Yes, I grew up in the boy band era and I love this song. Its so catchy and brings back good memories. I will still love my old school boy bands no matter what people say.

Normal - Katie Pruitt

The last line of this song is "The world told us to fit in, but we did the opposite." My family has been struggling lately with how different we are. My kids have Autism. We've always taught them to be proud of who and what they are. That their autism is not something to be ashamed of, but a super power to be embraced. We are happy like this and live our lives as wild as can be, but some people see this as uncontrolled and abnormal. This song burns to my deepest soul.

Ease on Down the Road - Michael Jackson and Diana Ross

This is going to be my 2022 song. The reality of my life is never going to change, but I love it and I need to be ok with how other people see us. I'm ready to ease on down the road in 2022.

I hope you have a wonderful new year and meet it with gusto and acceptance.
