I read is series over the last two years. The first book was amazing and I recommended it to my reading group, but as the series went on, the story became erratic and out there. It was like as if this wonderful dystopian world was slowly morphing into a scifi. By the end, it was no more than a first contact book. I would recommend the first book still. It was wonderful all on its own, but unless you are ready to hate the characters, don't read the rest.
