7 Books Every Child Should Read

My youngest son is finally at the age where he really loves to be read to. We've been doing a lot of it the last few weeks. I think its because his kindergarten teacher reads to him every day, and he has found the joy of hearing a good story and going on an adventure.

A lot of the books I've been reading him are books from my childhood, but there have been a few books that are new to me, but still so good. Check out these seven books that you need to read to your child.



 

I think my favorite was the giving tree, but Green pants was my son's favorite. Do you remember these books? What was your favorite?

  Sunday is back! Another long week under our belts. My husband and I have decided that we need a bigger vehicle for the family. We have a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander, which we love a lot, but with sensory children, if they don't have enough leg room, they freak out. I have to admit, the third row is a little bit of a squeeze, even for our seven year old. They happened to get their mom's long legs. We're hoping to get a new vehicle in the next week or two. If I was someone who didn't know anything about Black Widow and I came across this movie, I would no absolutely nothing about what the story is about. Good thing, I am a Marvel enthusiast. This movie was a nice change from my drab post pandemic movie selections. Lets face it, nothing new and wonderful has come out in a long time and we are dying for anything fresh to wet our pallets. August 2025 Wrap Up

  August was an incredible reading month. I managed to make my way through 36 books! From quick, bingeable reads to sprawling epics that demanded every ounce of my attention, this month had a little bit of everything. Looking back, I’m both amazed and excited to share the highlights, the surprises, and even the stories that didn’t quite hit the mark. 281/100 2025 Reading Challenge ~ 113/217 in my  Star Wars Legends challenge ~ 18/20  2024 Goodreads Fantasy Nominees Reading Challenge August turned out to be one of my best reading months yet, and I loved the variety that came with tackling 36 books. Some stories swept me away completely, while others pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best ways. Looking back, I’m proud of how much I was able to explore, and I’m already curious to see how September’s stack will measure up. Here’s to another month filled with new adventures, unexpected favorites, and plenty of pages to turn!
