Review:

I remember reading this book when I was a young girl. It gave me joy then and I was so glad it gave me joy now. Sometimes when you go back and read a book from your childhood, its not the amazing piece of literature you remember. Its almost scary to pick up and old book, but I did and I wasn't disappointed.

The main character Mary is the sassiest thing you have ever seen. To think how this was probably unacceptable back in 1910 makes my heart melt. She doesn't take any crap from anyone and when everyone was bowing their heads to nasty little Collin, Mary stood her ground and put him in his place.

The lessons to be learned from this book are many and always a great read for all ages.

  1. Oh, I like sassy girls, and it's great that you enjoyed it so many years laters. Can you believe I never read this or even watched a film adaptation? I need to pick this up.
