Review:
This book was hard to get through. Not just because its over a thousand pages long, but because the content was slow. There was so much world building and relationship building that the wonderful parts of the story were almost lost in all the muck.
Don't get me wrong, there were some really wonderful parts. I mean, everyone gets married in this book, and I mean everyone. Or the shocking new Amyrlin seat. And don't forget some of our old friends are back, but all this takes place in a slow moving world where everyone sits in camp discussing the world and their next move. This is all important info, but not a thousand pages of it.
I think I took enough story away form this book to move onto the next, but it only took me 3 months to get through it. At least the next book is shorter.
I have a love/hate relationship with Robert Jordan for this very reason. Some of the books took me SO long to get through because he tends to off on a million tangents and the story moves so slowly sometimes. Still, I love the overall story, and I'm excited that they're making it into a series!

My husband turned me on to this author. This was his go to series when he was a kid. It's been really hit or miss for me, but I love the discussions I've had with my husband and hearing his passion for the characters. It's all worth it.
