Menu: Week 83

Its been a long few weeks. We moved back to my home town Valentines day weekend and have been using every extra minute and ounce of energy we've had to clean out the old house. Its been a long haul. Not to mention we didn't have internet or the computer hooked up for several weeks.

I'm glad now to be in a new home where my kids can run and grow. No more long summer nights playing "Was that a gun shot or a fire cracker," or long drives to and from Oregon city to NE Portland. I wont miss the fighter planes doing maneuvers at all hours of the day and night, or will I miss the fact that most people in Portland don't have a kind bone in their body for those around them.

Through this whole process, I've seen the true nature of people come to light. The unwillingness to help a good person when they are down and an innate ability to hold even the smallest things over someones head. I've come to realize though that this is life. Growing up in a family like mine, where love is abundant and every person is willing to lend a helping hand without as much as a grumble or complaint is rare. I am grateful and blessed to finally live closer to them all.

Just remember, when you think that life will never get any better, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. You only have to look for it.
