Soul Finder #BlogTour and #Playlist by Jacinta Maree @JacintaMaree6

I love listening to instrumental pieces, it allows for a more personal interpretation and opens me up to
different emotions. I used to set up a meditation area and just play instrumental music on repeat. It was the most freeing experience I’ve ever had. I honestly don’t know why I don’t do it more often.
Please, enjoy my small selection. I am forever updating and changing it, but this is my current pick.

She hates the darkness the demons brought with them and longs for the light to return to the world—a world she only vaguely remembers. Tips for Writers - Self Motivation

If you find it hard to put aside the monotony of the day, and make your creative juices flow like I do, then you know that being self motivating is a hard chore.

With three boys, a full time job and a household to run, there isn't much time to do anything else, but finding time in the day for myself is key. It doesn't always come easy, and some days I just want to scream, but I would have never written Hunter if it wasn't for being a little self motivating.

I want to encourage all of you aspiring writes out there to make time, no matter where you are, to just be yourself. My time is my lunch break at work. Its a whole hour that I can put on a pair of head phones, bast my music and write while I nibble on lunch. If I can find the time, so can you. And, to save you even more time, check out this free invoice template by Invoice2Go to help you keep your business straight and save you time that could be better spent writing.

#WeeklyMenu Week 164

It makes my heart happy to see my oldest son pick up a book. Especailly when its the book that I wrote. I told him that I added a new character into the sequel call ed Phoenix, named after him. He was supper excited and can't wait for me to finish it. Its going to be a while though, these things don't just happen over night.

I'm done with the first draft, so the story is there, but now it needs to be redrafted and drafted and drafted, before I edit it and then submit it to my publisher. That's the point that I cross my fingers.

I can't wait to share it with you though. There's going to be someone you never saw coming and a blast from Hutner's past. It's one thrilling ride that you don't want to miss.

Summary:
The Embodied trilogy is an unusual web of adventure, romance, fantasy, and science fiction.

Book one, Silent Symmetry, introduces smart, plucky Manhattan prep school student Kari Marriner, who becomes aware that mysterious aliens called the Embodied and their pseudo-religion, the Temple of Truth, have been influencing her family’s life for decades. As she falls for Cruz, a boy at school, and meets warring Embodied siblings Noon and Aranara, Kari starts to question her emotions and finds herself ensnared in a mystery that reaches further than she could possibly have imagined.

In book two, Starley’s Rust, a charismatic young English artist named Starley, who is plagued by race memories of the Embodied, convinces Kari that he can find her missing mother if she flies to Paris with him to draw out her kidnappers. Kari soon discovers the mind-blowing extent of the Embodied beings’ involvement in human history and her own family’s tragic past.

In the trilogy’s thrilling conclusion, Diamond Splinters, Kari has a heart-wrenching choice to make: rescue her mother or save the Earth. When a submarine trip to the bottom of the Hudson River ends in death and disaster, Kari is scarred, both emotionally and physically. She wants to run and hide, but digs deep to find new sources of inner strength. As the storm of the century hits New York, a child’s life hangs in the balance and Kari gambles everything in a final confrontation with the genocidal Thoth.

The Fourth Piece #BlogTour by E. Ardell @E_Ardell

Haha, most people run the other way when I’m about to turn on some music. You can’t guess what I’m going to play. Could be Disney, could be metalcore or bubblegum pop. When I write, though, I usually listen to particular genres of music.

When I’m writing new sections, not editing, I need music with no words to distract me. I have go to soundtracks, like:

The Lord of the Rings Soundtracks (the scores)
Harry Potter Soundtracks (the scores)
The Craft Soundtrack (the score)
Apocalyptica (the instrumentals)
Enya
The Mists of Avalon Soundtrack
The Titanic Soundtrack
Troy Soundtrack
Ever After Soundtrack
Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Vivaldi
Or I even put it on the Soundscape Channel on Comcast for wordless tranquility music

When I’m editing, I find myself listening to:
30 Seconds to Mars
Fall Out Boy
My Chemical Romance
Backstreet Boys (Yeah, I said it :D )
Britney Spears (Oops, I said it again :D )
KPOP (anything really, but I favor songs that come from K-Dramas I’ve been watching lately)
JPOP (I favor songs from Inuyasha)
Shakira, Laundry Service
Bruno Mars
Shinedown
3 Doors Down
3 Days Grace
Nickelback
Beauty and the Beast
Hercules
Mulan
Aladdin
Lion King (the movie and musical)
The Little Mermaid
A Goofy Movie
Wicked
Into the Woods (the original soundtrack)

My neighbors hate me because I’ll play all of that random loops all day and night until I’m done with what I’m working on. The type of music, shifts my mid into different modes. If it’s wordless, I’m ready to sit down and write new stuff. If it’s got a thumping beat and words I know (I’ll even pretend to know the words to the KPOP and JPOP—and I do know the words to some of it, lol) I’m ready to dance around and do edits.

September Movie #Reviews

I've been watching a lot of movies lately, but haven't had time to write any reviews about them. There is always something more important that takes up my time (Like writing a sequel to Hunter.) This week I have several cool movies for you to fill your TV watching time.

Puncture (2011) - As another movie on my Chris Evans movie list, this was one of the better ones. Its about a lawyer who takes on the medical industry and all their bull.

When a nurse gets stuck with an infected needle and dies of aids, Evans' character takes on the huge task of making the medical supply companies (Who have a monopoly) pay for their negligence. There is a safety needle that could save thousands of nurses lives but they wont sell it.

Of course Evans' character has his own demons he has to battle (Drug use.)

Its a sad movie that is based on a true story and you learn a lot about how plastic needles started the aids epidemic. See the trailer here.

I'm going to give this movie a four out of five stars because it was super sad but an awesome watch.

London Has Fallen (2016 - I don't know if you all have seen Olympus has Fallen, but this movie is the sequel and let me tell you, it has all the blood and gore a person can handle (Or not.)

The movie follows the president and his secret service agent. They go to London for a funeral but are attacked by some gun running extremists. The whole movie is spent with Gerard Butler kicking as and taking names, saving the president over and over and over and over again. They blow stuff up, have epic gun battles and the hand to hand combat is awesome.

The only down side is all the gore.  lot of people get stabbed and blown up and if you can't handle it, then don't watch this movie. Check out the trailer here.

This movie has earned an epic four out of five stars for action and awesomeness.

Insurgent (2015) - I've read all the books in this series and I love when the movies are just about as good as the reads.

Throughout the entire movie you just want some of the character to die. They are that evil, but the kind of evil that makes sense. Not this evil that you wonder why anyone would put them in the movie.

The plot follows Tris and Four as they escape the big city and ultimately break back in to unlock the secrets of the Divergent. There wasn't as much fun play in this movie as the last. No awesome capture the flag or tattoos, but there is a lot of simulations and gun battles.

Check out the trailer.

I will watch this movie again so that is why I'm giving it a four out of five stars.

Home (2015) - Every once and a while my kinds request a movie and this was one of them. It looked hilarious, even before my son asked to watch it and it made the whole family gather on the couch for a night of family bonding.

The movie is all about this alien race who are masters at running away. They are being pursued by a crazy looking race that they stole something from, and every time they are found, they run away and leave the world they've been hiding on to be destroyed. Of course they come to earth and all hell breaks loose, but everything turns out ok in the end.

My favorite part is Pig the cat of course and you can see him in the trailer here.

This movie is getting a five out of five for spectacular humor and Pig the Cat.

These are my movie picks of the month. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family and I have. If you have a movie you think I would enjoy, please leave me a comment.

The Reader #Review by M.K Harkins

Title: The Reader
By: M.K Harkins
Genre: Fantasy/Paranormal
Release Date: August 25th, 2016
Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform

Summary from Goodreads:
Hunted, shot, and without her memory, eighteen-year-old Ann Baker wakes in shallow water on a deserted Pacific Northwest island. She is soon approached by two young men claiming to be her friends. Something isn’t right, but when gunshots sound, Ann is left with little choice but to allow Devon and Archer to help her escape. Soon she finds herself in their North Bend mountain compound, where the higher evolved humans claim to be mind-readers. While Ann heals, she realizes they believe her to be one of the last and most powerful of all – The Lost One.

She’s welcomed by most with opened arms, but not everyone is happy about her arrival. A jealous adversary has plans for Ann, which spirals the entire Reader community into chaos.

As lies, murder, and betrayal threaten to rip apart the once harmonious mountain dwellers, Ann is thrust into making a decision that could save or devastate not only The Readers, but all of mankind. But there’s just one glitch: by doing so it may require her to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Review: I was given a free copy of this book by the author for my honest review.

I was really drawn to this book because of my love for telepathy and the paranormal. I think you all know how much I love it, so when I picked it up I had really high expectations. Before I get into my review, let me give you a little background on the story.

Ann wakes up without any memories and is found by the Readers (People who can read minds). We find out that the Readers are in a war with the Jacks (People who high jack other peoples bodies.) During this centuries long war, the Seer's got wiped out (People who can see the future.) Before the Seers were wiped out, they saw one person who had all three gifts who could end the war. You know, when I heard all this I thought to myself, that's pretty awesome. I must read this book.

Here is my review. The premise was awesome. I loved how this one girl had the weight of the world on her shoulders and it seemed at times there was no way out, but when the story really started getting going, the characters didn't seem to fit the premise. The Readers and Jacks are supposed to be thousands of years old, but yet they talk like they are horny teens. I guess I was expecting a little more maturity from everyone in the way they talked and acted, but that wasn't the case. The next thing that got my goat was the mass amount of questions the main character asked. Her dialogue was hard to believe and I felt like she could have found out some of the information of the story in a way other than asking someone outright over and over again.

I adored the love triangle and I'm happy with who Ann ended up with in the end. I could have used more awkwardness between the characters, but it was satisfying none the less.

I'm going to give this book 3 stars because it was good but there were things that didn't make sense to me and I couldn't get over the dialogue.

Book two of the thrilling Immortal Gene series dives deeper into the danger of trusting your heart over your head.

Excerpt:
I shook my head. This must be a nightmare. This must be fake.

“This isn’t you, Diesel. This is Krane’s influence. You’re sick but once you get some D400 into you, you’ll be you again.”

Diesel’s voice tightened. “I’m not sick. Don’t you get it? Krane, Diesel, there’s no difference.”

My breath shuddered out. All this time, everyone referred to him as Krane but I had ignored it. All this time I was warned of Krane’s cruel capabilities but I was so certain Diesel wasn’t the same malicious person. But Krane wasn’t a separate entity held behind a wall of D400. It was just another name fitted to a different face.

I stepped back. “You’re disgusting!”

“Nadia.” He smiled as though I was joking. He reached out to touch me. I jerked away.

With all the coldness I could master, I gritted through my teeth. “Men like you remind me that there are such things as real monsters.”

My words hit something dark inside of Diesel and immediately he dropped his smile. “Hmm, so what do you call those that love monsters like me, huh? How disgusting are you then?”

He was right. We were a candle on fire, destined to destroy each other. He was a flame, clinging to me, not letting me go as I melted beneath. I could feel myself weaken in my core, my sides running with wax. The more the flame ate and picked me away, the further my body hollowed until all that was left were brittle walls melting into a puddle. Once I was gone, he’d snap shut into smoke.

“Maybe you are right. Maybe love really is just poison an idiot drinks.”

Diesel’s eyes narrowed. “Didn’t you say nothing could break you?”

“I’m not broken. You are. And this is a poison you can now drink alone.”

Lauren's first book, VIVIAN DIVINE IS DEAD was published June 3 2014. Lauren's second book LIES I LIVE BY was released by KT Books on May 31 2016. She's currently working on her next book, which she can't wait to tell you about (but has to wait just a little while anyway).

Lauren believes that being a teenager is an act of courage, and is proud of anyone who manages to stick through it, despite the pain. :)

Dawn of the Vie Cover Reveal by Laura Diamond

BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:

Dawn of the Vie
by Laura Diamond
(Immortal Aliens, #1)
Published by: Curiosity Quills Press
Publication date: October 3rd 2016
Genres: Dystopian, Science Fiction, Young Adult

Synopsis:
Since their Arrival less than 30 years ago, immortal Vie rule the planet like the super-predators they are. Enslaved humans are their servants…their entertainment…and their food. Anemies—humans with various types of anemia—are simply exterminated. Their nutritionally deficient blood is useless to the Vie.
Or so it’s thought…
_________
Alex, an Elite Vie, is a bit of a Renaissance Alien. Part scientist, part Raid Specialist, part drug addict, he knows Anemie blood is valuable. Rather than blindly carrying out his boss’s kill order, he convinces some colleagues to spare a few Anemies, not only for study, but also to reserve a secret stock.
The more Anemie blood Alex drinks, the more he slips into delusion, and the more his double life threatens to crumble. But quitting Anemie blood is not an option. Every Anemie has their own personal flavor. Each gives a unique high.
When Alex takes a hit of Justin’s blood, his hallucinations bleed into reality…
_________
Anemie Justin knows his little sister, Sammie, and he are living past their expiration dates. It becomes a guarantee when they’re bitten by a Vie named Alex during a raid. (The bite is fatal, thanks to a toxin carried in Vie saliva.) Alex adds insult to injury by promising Justin a second chance—an antidote in exchange for agreeing to be a lab rat.
And a mule…of his own blood.
When Justin says no, Alex takes off with Sammie.
All Justin has to do is find them, beat Alex, and cure himself and Sammie. All he has is a stake and serious lack of self-preservation.
No problem.
_________
Alex wants Justin’s blood.
Justin wants his sister back.
GAME ON.
