DIY Earing Holder
With the new year here, I'm going to make the next few months all about organization. Now that we've been in our home officially one year, we are nearly unpacked (I know, its been a year) and I've come to realize that I don't have enough storage for all the things I've brought over from the old house. So, to help me with this long transition, I'm going to be posting about storage and organization.
I'e already shared the new shelves in our bathroom, but here is another way to organize your home in a very easy and classy way.
How about an awesome way to display and store your earings?
The hoop was $1.99 at my local fabric store and the lace was $2.26 and I got way more than I will ever use.
It looks great and is super easy. Try it yourself and share some photos of what you came up with. I would love to see them.
Menu: Week 132
I hope you all had an amazing valentines day yesterday. I treated my husband to lunch, and then he made me dinner. It wasn't extravagant, but it was exactly what I needed. Spending time with my family for valentines day. I couldn't of asked for more.
The boys and us have been watching this show we found on the science channel. Its called outrageous acts of science. They love it. We all cuddle up on the couch with some popcorn and watch people do amazingly silly things while people explain why there ridiculous things work. The boys really get into it. For anyone with young children, this is an awesome way to connect with them as they learn. You might even learn something as well.
There have been a lot of writing contests of late, so I apologize if some of my posts seem odd to you. I'm trying to get feed back on my submissions and get my name out there. As always, if you want to connect, feel free to email me so we can talk.
Here is this weeks menu. Enjoy!

Son of a Pitch critique round
Title: HUNTER
Age and Genre: YA Urban Fantasy
Word Count: 55,000
Query:
When sixteen year old Hunter’s growing telepathic ability
gets her on the FBI’s radar, her partner puts a gun to her head. He wants to
silence the secrets of their agency that are locked in her mind. Fortunately
for her, it’s not her time to die.
Surviving means making an unlikely friend with an FBI agent
named Seeker. He’s the same agent that caused her partner to turn on her in the
first place and he has a mission of his own. Bring Hunter back to the PIT alive
to face judgment for the multitude of murders she’s had a part of.
After nearly escaping the PIT with a rogue telepath and
having her thoughts pilfered for information against her will, Hunter learns
that if she wants to clear her name, she must put her life on the line to bring
down Talon, the agency she used to work for.
With each passing hour becoming more perilous, Hunter must
decide who to trust before her next mission becomes her last.
First 250 Words:
My heart skipped a beat when the com in my ear buzzed.
“Hunter, we’re running out of time. You know what happens if someone else gets
to Miles before we do. All this work would be for nothing.”
In the bounty hunter line of work, you never knew who
else was out there searching for the same prize, especially when one paid as
well as this did. I exhaled and tried to calm my nerves. This one wasn’t going
to get away.
“I’m trying. There are a lot of minds to sift through.” I
spoke quietly to my partner Bear, trying not to look like a crazy person. My
mind was lost in the sea of people, drifting through their inner monologues,
almost losing myself in their stories. Sweat dripped from my temples as I
pulled myself from almost passing out.
“Come
on, doll. You got this. Get the job done and we can go home and you can sleep
as much as you want. Menu: Week 131

Bathroom Makeover
It was a rainy Sunday afternoon. My husband and I didn't have any plans and the kids were playing quietly in their room. I had some things I wanted to do to the bathroom and I knew I needed my husbands help to get them done. First on my list was corner shelves over the sink to give me more room for my hair and makeup products.
Little did I know that my husband would go all out and finish all the projects I had been planning on doing to the bathroom in one afternoon.
Before
After. Notice the shelves in the corner and the jewelry hanger on the left side.
Then, I got this. A razor holder which I hadn't planned on doing. My husband actually came up with this design on his own, but its really awesome.
And last, I got this really amazing toothbrush holder that matches with the rest of our natural wood decor in the bathroom.
All these things were made from reclaimed wood in our back yard and if you have a drill, some screws, a saw and some wood glue. You can make them yourself. Good luck and keep on DIYing.
Movies that will blow your mind
Last week I had a lot of time on my hands since my youngest son was super sick. He was running a fever and wouldn't let me leave his side, which I gladly cuddled up on the couch with him. Over a two day span, I emptied the DVR of all back logged shows, I read several books and watched a few movies that looked interesting, but I've never had the chance to sit down and enjoy them.
The two movies that I watched blew my mind. They were both psychological thrillers that were totally different but both crazy. You have got to watch these movies.
1. Diablo (2015) - A young civil war veteran is forced on a desperate journey to save his kidnapped wife.
Not only does it have Scott Eastwood in it (Who looks just like his father), it has some pretty spectacular gun fights too. Don't forget the twist at the end. My husband claims that he figured it out halfway through the movie, but I was completely entwined in the story until the very end and didn't see it comeing.
2. The Perfect Getaway (2009) - Newlyweds Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) are celebrating their honeymoon by hiking through a secluded region of Hawaii. Their idyllic trek takes a dark turn when they find a group of frightened hikers who claim that another couple has been brutally murdered. Far from civilization and unsure who to trust, Cydney and Cliff soon get locked into a terrifying battle for survival.
This movie has several of my favorite actors in it. Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn and Chris Hemsworth (Third on my list of favorite Chris'). I didn't watch this movie with my husband, but i'm sure he would have figured out the plot twist before I did. You will not see this one coming. It's a great date night thriller or a sick baby napping kind of movie.
If you have a movie that has a twist that you didn't see coming, let me know in the comments below. I am always on the lookout for good inspiration and entertainment.
